Toolbar Cop is a really simple program to use. There is no installation required.
Just run the downloaded file and it will scan your registry immediately.
The screen is broken down into 4 different parts. “Internet Explororer Toolbar Buttons”, “Internet Explorer Toolbars”, “Internet Explorer Context Menu Extensions” and “Browser Helper Objects”.
Each section will have a list of detected objects. You can select each one and view its name and its related DLL file.
If you are not sure about one of the objects do not delete it as it might be needed. Toolbar Cop finds ALL extensions installed, not just spyware.
I suggest you create a backup of your registry before you delete anything you are unsure of. You can do this by selecting 'run' from the start menu then type:
regedit
Then in the menu, click File and select export. |
